County Clerk Announces Saturday Hours for Spring

If you are
planning a spring wedding or traveling abroad this summer, the County
Clerk-Recorder, Steve Weir, announces that the Clerk's Office located at 555
Escobar St. in downtown Martinez will have extended office hours. The office will be open on July 12th and August 9th from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. for the issuing of
marriage licenses, the performance of wedding ceremonies (Spanish-speaking available),
the processing of passport applications and the filing of fictitious business name
statements.
So, if you are planning a spring wedding or
vacationing abroad and you don't wish to take time off from work to purchase
a marriage license or passport, here is your opportunity.
Those parties wishing to purchase a license must appear
in person (both parties), must have valid ID (government issued) and pay $85
by debit card or cash. The license is good for a 90 day period and can be used in any
county in California. Those wishing to have a ceremony must call
(925)335-7900 to make a reservation. The cost of the ceremony is $60 and
must be paid by debit card or cash.
