Passport Applications 

Passport applications may be submitted to any of the following passport       agents: The County Clerk's Office in downtown Martinez, San Ramon City Clerk's Office or at the Main Post Offices in Richmond, Walnut Creek, Concord, Martinez, Antioch or Pittsburg.
 

To submit a passport application, you must have the following:

  • Completed Application Form
  • Government Issued Valid Picture ID
  • Certified Birth Certificate
  • Two Passport Photos
  • A Check or Money Order made payable to the "U.S Department of State" in the amount of $75.00 for adults ($60.00 for children under 16 years old), and check or money order in the amount of $25.00 made payable to "County Clerk".

Passport Fees:

·         Check/Money Order made out to the "U.S Department of State": $75.00

·         16 years and under: $60.00

·         A check or money order in the amount of $25.00 made payable to "County Clerk".

This applies to all regular, official and diplomatic passports for children under the age of 16, even if the child has previously been issued a passport.  Now, when applying for a passport on behalf of a minor under the age of 16, parents are required to have their child present and submit documentation of parental relationship and consent, as well as comply with all other documentation requirements for the issuance of a passport.

Photos of children are required. Applications for children between the ages of 13 - 17 must be signed by both the minor and the parent. Both parties must appear together.

Once your application is received, it will be forwarded to the Passport Agency and you should receive your passport in approximately 4 to 6 weeks.
 
Passport Renewal:

Passport renewals are handled through the Passport Office in Pennsylvania. You may pick up a renewal form at the Clerk's Office or a main post office branch. If you wish to have a renewal form mailed to you, please send a request and a self addressed stamped envelope to :

Passports may only be renewed if the passport was issued in the last 15 years.

Expedited Passports:

For an additional fee, passport application processing may be expedited.  The turn around time for an expedited passport is 10-14 days.  Should you need your passport sooner you will have to contact the US State Department for an appointment. 

The fee for an expedited passport is an additional $60.00.  Make your check or money order payable to: Passport Services.
