Donation Information and List of Acceptable and Non-acceptable Items
We are very appreciative of all donations and gladly accept checks (preferable) or cash. All monetary donations are used exclusively to enhance the care and well-being of our animals.
To donate by check or cash, please send to Contra Costa Animal Services Department, Administration, 4800 Imhoff Place, Martinez, CA 94553. A receipt for your tax records will be sent to you.

Acceptable and Welcomed Donation Items

For the Health and Safety of our Animals, the Following Items are NOT Acceptable |

|
"KONG" DOG TOYS Black color only. |
NO stuffed animals, "Greenies," or rawhide toys. |
|
|
CAT TOYS Cloth or plastic balls with bells okay. |
NO feathers, fringe, string or catnip, or pipe cleaner toys. |
|
|
BEDDING (blankets & towels) Clean or new without holes or frayed edges. |
NO comforters, crocheted items, or electric blankets. NO pet beds or houses. |
|
|
KMR (Kitten Milk Replacement) Powdered baby formula for unweaned kittens, Esbilac (puppy formula), pet nursing bottles (PetAg). |
NO DOG OR CAT FOOD OF ANY KIND- The shelter offers a standard diet to the dogs & cats to maintain healthy digestion. NO rawhide or fur ball treats. |

DOG/CAT TREATS Milkbone® dog biscuits and other chewable treats are given sparingly. |
NO liquid formula (short shelf life) or human baby bottles. |
|
|
TOYS & FOOD FOR RABBITS Willow balls, tunnels and tents, alfalfa, popsicle sticks, Timothy hay, orchard grass, plastic rabbit igloos. |
NO rabbit pellet food or treats with sugar (can cause diarrhea) |

|
NEWSPAPERS Used to line rabbit and cat cages and litter boxes. |
NO slick (glossy) magazine ad pages. NO litter boxes or clumping litter. |
|
|
MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS Pet shampoo, flea combs, shaving clippers, nail clippers, new leashes, collars, harnesses. |
NO feeding bowls, medications, or clothing. |
